Author Talk with Don Curtis
Wednesday, May 30, 6:00 – 7:30 pm Donald R. Curtis, author of "and should we die…" The Cane Creek Mormon Massacre will be at the Main Library to discuss and sign his book. On August 10, 1884, in Lewis County, Tennessee, a mob posing as members of the Ku Klux Klan attacked a local Mormon Church meeting, and shot to death two missionaries and three local Church members. This event has been described as the worst massacre in the South in LDS Church history. Curtis covers this tragedy in its entirety, what led up to it, the actual tragedy itself, and how it affected the years that followed and the lives of those left behind. Copies of the book will be available for sale.
